Description: Loving completely begins with having a heart of gratitude. That’s because gratitude grows our heart, it expands out heart. Gratitude leads us to peace and contentment. It helps us love others and see them a gift from God. Luke’s gospel tells us the story of Jesus healing ten lepers. Surprisingly, only one of the ten men returned to Jesus to say thanks for giving him his life back. The other nine returned to their lives without a word of thanks to the one who healed them from their death sentence. Amazing – and sad. The story of the ten lepers teaches us important lessons about gratitude and how it helps us love others completely.

Minneapolis is home to thousands of refugees who have been forced to flee their homes, leaving almost everything behind. The Twin Cities Refugee team offers an opportunity to welcome our new neighbors and extend friendship to them in practical ways.

The weekend mission trip begins on Friday, June 22 at 6:30pm and ends Sunday, June 24 at 8pm. Friday evening will include orientation and preparation. Beginning Saturday, we will deliver furniture and other necessities to their new homes, share meals and immerse ourselves in the culture of those we serve. The Twin Cities Refugee team presents us each an opportunity to step outside our comfort zone right in our own back yard. Please prayerfully consider joining the team for two days that could change your life.

We will update soon on information regarding cost and lodging.

Sign up online or at the Welcome Table. The cut-off date for signing up for this event is May 18.

For questions, contact Jason Dyer at 763.954.0113 or email jason.dyer@gmail.com.
