FaithJourney
On January 1st, 2011 Northwood Church began her 2nd capital campaign, “FJ2: For God and for Others.” Based on Psalm 115:1, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness.” The prayer for Northwood Church is that the FJ2 campaign will enable us to pay off the land we purchased in 2009 in addition to setting aside money for our first ministry facility to be built in the near future. The three-year campaign will conclude December 31st, 2013.
Northwooders have shown their generosity in committing over $330,000 to FJ2, in addition to the $800,000 that was received during 2008-2010 (our first campaign). Northwood is grateful for every participant and gift given to help Northwood Church fulfill her vision to “help people believe in Jesus and become more like him.” As God leads you and enables you, please help Northwood Church grow God’s fingerprint in Maple Grove and beyond.
The Future Home Task Force (FHTF) is meeting regularly as Northwood moves towards building a ministry facility. Over the past several months we have met with a handful of design firms with the purpose of finding a partner that met criteria set forth by the FHTF. Having visited numerous church sites (including sites in Iowa Wisconsin and Minnesota), and interviewing firms, the FHTF and Leadership Team overwhelmingly agreed that Station 19 fits Northwood perfectly. In the coming months, Station 19 will be visiting with church leadership, staff, and ministry teams to learn more about Northwood as they construct a preliminary Conceptual Site Study Plan. The plan will include possible phases for the site, along with potential concepts for the facility and land while being mindful of ordinances. Be sure to check out Station 19’s website at www.station19.com
There are several components that must be present before a shovel goes in the ground:
1) continued development of highway 610,
2) infrastructure readiness by the City of Maple Grove,
3) financial strength of Northwood, and most importantly
4) God’s timing.
It is our best hope that Northwood will be able to begin moving earth at our 21-acre site in three years. Please pray for Northwood as our FaithJourney moves forward.
The following Northwooders make up the FHTF: Grant Case, Cyndi Deneson, Sean Dietz, Brian Doten, Luis Ferreiro, Bob Howington, Ben Just, Dan Koller, Scott Koppendrayer, and Troy Nelson. The FHTF meets regularly and welcome any and all questions.
